Non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs) are gaining prominence as effective strategies for managing pain and promoting functional recovery in both acute and chronic conditions. As concerns rise over the adverse effects and dependency associated with pharmacological treatments—particularly opioids—clinicians and researchers are increasingly investigating alternative therapies. This short research paper reviews current evidence on non-pharmacological approaches, including physical therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acupuncture, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Emphasis is placed on their efficacy in improving pain outcomes, mobility, and quality of life. The review synthesizes results from peer-reviewed clinical trials and cohort studies, highlighting emerging patterns in evidence-based practice. The findings underscore the importance of multimodal approaches tailored to patient profiles.
